Watch TV Shows on Caracol Television

Caracol Television is a private national television network in Colombia. The network is owned by the Santo Domingo Group.

Caracol Televisión began in 1954 when the Caracol Broadcasting Organization offered to finance the national television costs, then it became state-run, then through commercial spots. At that time its board Germán Montoya, Pedro Navas, Carlos Sanz de Santamaría, Henao, Cayetano Betancourt, and Fernando Londoño started to suggest the possibility of starting Colombia's first television station. A year later that proposal was accepted and they began sharing the rights with the National broadcasting, the state-run company that operates the National Television, which was the only television station in Colombia at the time.

In 1967, Inravisión was awarded 45 hours a week, but due to this, Caracol Radio spun off from Caracol Televisión, having marketing, production and TV shows as its main goal. In 1987 the Valores Bavaria group became the main shareholder and promoted an administrative and technical modernization of the company. In the 1990s, prior to becoming a private channel, Datos y Mensajes, Producciones JES, Producciones PUNCH, RTI and RCN were the members of OTI Colombia, which was the group licensed to air the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

As of December 28, 2010, Caracol TV officially began digitally broadcasting for Bogotá, Medellín and the surrounding areas on UHF channel 14.
