In 2 Days in New York, we follow Marion (played by Julie Delpy), a French artist who has moved from Paris to New York City with her boyfriend, Mingus (played by Chris Rock). Marion's eccentric family arrives in New York to stay with the couple for 2 days, causing chaos and cultural clashes. Marion's father, Jeannot (played by Albert Delpy, Julie Delpy's real-life father), arrives with her sister, Rose (Alexia Landeau), and her sister's boyfriend, Manu (Alexandre Nahon). Jeannot is a flirtatious old man who drinks too much and often offends Mingus. Rose is unhappy in her long-distance relationship with her boyfriend in London and has an awkward history with Mingus. Manu is a typical Frenchman (according to Marion) who flirts with her, smokes weed, and tries to sell her artwork to a wealthy African businessman.

Throughout the film, Marion juggles her family's outlandish behavior and her desire to impress her artist acquaintance, Vincent Gallo, who is coming over for dinner. Mingus, a radio host with a talk show about his life with Marion and their blended family, tries to stay out of the chaos and keep his relationship intact.

2 Days in New York is a comedic and romantic film about culture clashes, relationships, and family. Julie Delpy, who also wrote and directed the film, brings her signature style and humor to the screen. The film has a quirky and upbeat soundtrack and features many shots of New York City, showcasing the city's diversity and charm.

Julie Delpy's performance as Marion is exceptional, and she shines in her humorous and dramatic moments. Chris Rock, mostly known for his comedy, delivers a nuanced and believable performance as Mingus. Their chemistry and banter add depth and heart to the film. Albert Delpy steals many scenes as Jeannot, with his charismatic and humorous presence. Alexia Landeau and Alexandre Nahon also deliver strong performances as Rose and Manu, respectively.

2 Days in New York is a sequel to Delpy's 2007 film, 2 Days in Paris. While the films share similar themes and elements, 2 Days in New York stands on its own with its unique storyline and characters. It is a charming and funny film that will leave viewers with a smile on their face.

Overall, 2 Days in New York is a delightful film about family dynamics, relationships, and cultural differences. Julie Delpy's writing and direction are superb, and the cast delivers stellar performances. This film is a must-watch for anyone who loves quirky, romantic comedies or is a fan of Julie Delpy's work.
