A Thousand Words is a 2012 comedy-drama movie starring Eddie Murphy, Kerry Washington, and Cliff Curtis. The movie was directed by Brian Robbins and produced by Alain Chabat, Nicolas Cage, and Stephanie Danan. The film is about a literary agent named Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy) who talks too much and always tells lies to get what he wants.

Jack is a successful literary agent who is always on the move. He uses his charm and quick thinking to get what he wants, and he's not afraid to bend the truth a little to close a deal. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he visits a mystical guru who gives him a magical Bodhi tree. The tree is adorned with thousand leaves, and with each word Jack utters, one leaf falls off the tree. When the tree loses all of its leaves, Jack will die.

At first, Jack thinks the guru is messing with him, but he soon discovers that the tree is real and that it's starting to lose leaves every time he speaks. He tries to keep quiet, but it's not long before he finds himself in situations where he's forced to speak. Every time he talks, he knows he's getting closer to death, so he tries to choose his words carefully.

As Jack tries to navigate his new reality, he learns some harsh truths about himself. He realizes that he's been lying to himself and others for a long time, and that he's never been completely honest with anyone. He also realizes that his words have consequences, and that he needs to be more mindful of what he says.

But it's not all doom and gloom. As Jack gets closer to death, he starts to appreciate life and the people around him. He starts to cherish the time he has left and tries to make the most of it. He reconnects with his wife (Kerry Washington) and young son, and he starts to rebuild relationships with old friends and coworkers.

The movie is a heartwarming tale of redemption and self-discovery. Eddie Murphy delivers a strong performance as Jack, and he's able to convey a wide range of emotions throughout the film. Kerry Washington is also excellent as Jack's wife, and she brings a level of depth to her character that is refreshing to see. Cliff Curtis is also noteworthy as the mystical guru who sets Jack on his journey.

Overall, A Thousand Words is an enjoyable movie that is well worth watching. It's a unique and interesting concept that is executed well, and it's nice to see Eddie Murphy in a more serious role. The movie will make you laugh, cry, and think, and it's a great reminder that our words have power and that we should always choose them wisely.

A Thousand Words is a 2012 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8 and a MetaScore of 26.
