A Stitch for Time is a movie that documents the making of the National Peace Quilt. The idea for the quilt came from the Boise Peace Quilt Project that started in 1984 when students drew blocks for the quilt. BPQ members then made them into quilt blocks, and stitched the quilt. Senators were then asked to sleep under the quilt for a night and to think about the Cold War and its impact on children; then, record their thoughts in a journal that would accompany the quilt.
This movie is an Academy Award nominee for best documentary feature in 1987.
