Aadhavan is an Indian Tamil-language action-comedy film released in 2009. The movie is directed by K. S. Ravikumar and stars Suriya, Nayanthara, and Vadivelu in leading roles. It marks the third collaboration between Suriya and K.S. Ravikumar. The movie was produced by Udayanidhi Stalin under the banner named Red Giant Movies. The plot of Aadhavan revolves around a highly-skilled hitman named Aadhavan (Suriya), who works for a mysterious organization. The organization is headed by Ibrahim Rowther (Rahul Dev), a wealthy businessman, and a former colleague of Aadhavan's father (Ravi Prakash).

Aadhavan's latest assignment is to kill a magistrate named Subramanian (late veteran actor Murali). Subramanian is a justice-seeker who is trying to unearth the illegal activities of Ibrahim Rowther and his accomplices. However, Aadhavan has his own agenda behind accepting the contract to kill Subramanian.

Aadhavan's secret mission is to reunite with his estranged family. Years ago, Aadhavan's father got falsely accused of a murder he did not commit, which led to his death. Aadhavan believes that Subramanian is the only person who can clear his father's name and bring justice to his family.

The story takes a twist when Aadhavan reaches Subramanian's house disguised as a housekeeper. He befriends Subramanian's daughter Thara (Nayanthara), who is oblivious to his real identity. However, as Aadhavan gets closer to Thara and her family, he realizes that not everything is as it seems.

The movie is filled with hilarious and action-packed sequences as Aadhavan and his sidekick Bannerjee (Vadivelu) try to keep their cover while trying to solve the mystery behind Subramanian's death.

Suriya delivered an outstanding performance as Aadhavan, showcasing his versatile acting skills by portraying a hitman with a heart. Nayanthara played the female lead, Thara, with grace and elegance. Vadivelu as usual did not fail to impress with his comic timing and witty dialogues. The supporting cast, including Ramesh Khanna, B. Saroja Devi, Anu Hasan, and Rahul Dev, did an excellent job in their respective roles.

The music of the movie was composed by Harris Jayaraj, who delivered some chart-busting songs like 'Hasili Fisiliye' and 'Yeno Yeno Panithuli.' The background score was aptly created by Vidyasagar, which helped in elevating the movie's action sequences.

The cinematography of the movie was done by R. Ganesh, who captured the movie's essence beautifully. The movie's action scenes were choreographed by Thyagarajan, which added an additional spike to the movie's already impressive storyline.

Overall, Aadhavan is a must-watch for all action-comedy movie lovers. It is a well-crafted film that will leave you entertained and guessing until the very end. With its exciting plot, witty dialogues, and excellent performances, Aadhavan proves to be a complete package that is worth every penny.

Aadhavan is a 2009 thriller with a runtime of 2 hours and 48 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.5.
