In the country of Sri Lanka more than 2,400 years ago, the man whom historians say was the first ruler of the entire island, King Pandukabhaya, establishes a monarchy characterized by wisdom and enlightened philosophy. He makes peace between bitter rivals and reorganizes society. King Pandukabhaya is as much myth and legend as actual historic figure. The film attempts to capture a remarkable time in the ancient history of this exotic land.
