Afternoon Delight is a 2013 independent comedy-drama film written and directed by Jill Soloway. The movie stars Kathryn Hahn, who plays Rachel, a housewife and mom who lives in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, and is struggling with a lack of passion and purpose in her life. Rachel is married to Jeff (played by Josh Radnor) who runs a successful IT business, and they have a five-year-old son. But despite having a comfortable life, Rachel is still unsatisfied and unfulfilled, feeling like she's lost touch with herself and her desires.

One day, Rachel decides to spice up her marriage by taking her husband to a strip club, but the experience backfires and only highlights the disconnect between them. After a series of events, Rachel meets McKinley (played by Juno Temple), a young and charismatic stripper who she becomes emotionally drawn to.

Feeling drawn to McKinley's free-spirited lifestyle and her carefree attitude, Rachel invites McKinley to stay with her and her family as their live-in nanny. What starts out as an attempt to help McKinley, soon turns into a journey of self-discovery for Rachel, as she learns to confront her own issues of identity, sexuality and self-worth.

As Rachel explores her newfound passion and attraction for McKinley, she also has to navigate the complexities of her own marriage, as well as the dynamics within their social circle of other parents at their son's school.

Kathryn Hahn delivers a captivating performance as Rachel, effortlessly capturing the character's mixture of vulnerability, insecurity, and lust. Meanwhile, Juno Temple shines as McKinley, who is both alluring and enigmatic, with an air of mystery surrounding her true intentions throughout the film.

The supporting cast also turns in solid performances, with Link Ruiz playing Amanda, a stripper friend of McKinley's who provides some moments of comic relief, and Cesar Garcia as Stuart, a member of their social circle who Rachel connects with on a deeper level.

The movie's plot may seem like a typical mid-life crisis story at first, but it delves into complex themes around sexuality, power dynamics, and personal growth. Soloway's script and direction create an engaging and nuanced exploration of a woman's journey to reclaim her own sense of agency and authenticity.

Overall, Afternoon Delight is an intelligent, well-acted film that balances humor and drama with a refreshing take on the challenges of modern womanhood. It's a film that challenges our notions of what it means to be a wife, mother, and woman, and encourages us to confront our own desires and insecurities head-on.

Afternoon Delight is a 2013 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7 and a MetaScore of 50.
