All Over the Guy

The film entitled All Over the Guy is centered on the experiences of Eli and Tom. The film starts with a flashback where Eli is at a clinic awaiting results of his HIV test where he tells his part of the story to Esther. Esther is a lady who works at the clinic in the HIV unit. Tom on his part narrates his story to a man whom he meets while attending a meeting organized for alcoholics.

Tom is a young guy who grew up with his parents both of whom are alcoholics. Eli's parents on the other hand are of a Jewish background and they both work as trained psychiatrists. They tried their best to give Eli a good upbringing but due to too much pressure from them he ended up suffering from severe neurosis.

Tom and Eli meet on a blind date which was arranged by their close friends Jackie and Brett. Their friends understand their sexuality and believe the two will make a good pair. The date starts by being boring to both Tom and Eli as they have nothing to talk about but later on Tom changes the mood when he starts analyzing and criticizing a movie entitled In and Out to Eli. After the date that evening the two part ways.

A few days later they meet again at a flea market where they went shopping. They end up going to Eli's house where they both spend the night. Tom wakes up in the morning and leaves in anger.

When Jackie and Brett find out, they succeed get them together again and the two guys start dating. Tom is however not very comfortable with the whole relationship and Eli is also not very certain. On the day of Jackie and Brett's wedding, the flashback ends. At the end, Esther advices Tom to understand and accept Eli and the two get back together.
