This is a historical drama film that is also known as the Anatolian Smile. The movie premiered in 1963. It is written and directed by Elia Kazan. The movie describes the long and arduous journey that Kazan's grandfather undertook in order to emigrate to America. Stathis Giallelis stars as Stavros Topouzoglou who is Kazan's grandfather in the film. Stavros, who lives in a poor village in Anatolia, Turkey dreams of a better life abroad.
