American Virgin is a 2009 comedy directed by Clare Kilner and written by Jeff Seeman. The movie's protagonist is Priscilla White (Jenna Dewan), a virgin college student who believes that sex should be sacred and not a casual act. Priscilla is the epitome of the perfect Catholic girl, whose mother was once a nun. She feels self-righteous for remaining a virgin, even though she is ridiculed by her peers.

Priscilla's world is turned upside down when her promiscuous roommate, Naz (Brianne Davis), has to leave college and go to rehab. Before leaving, Naz lets Priscilla know that she has lost her virginity to Priscilla's boyfriend, Chuck (Chase Ryan Jeffery). Priscilla, devastated by the revelation, chooses to throw away all her sacred vows and indulges in a one-night stand with Chuck's best friend, Jake (Bo Burnham), who is known for his sexual escapades.

Priscilla's new sexual experience doesn't go as planned, and she wakes up the next morning feeling ashamed of herself. She feels she has let herself down and betrayed her own beliefs. With time, Priscilla realizes that she can still have a relationship with Jake without having sex. Priscilla's religious beliefs are put to the test throughout the movie, and she learns that living her life based solely on religious doctrine isn't necessarily the only way.

As Priscilla tries to navigate her new relationship and her growing feelings for Jake, her church group, led by Pastor Skip (Rob Schneider), plans to head to a chastity festival in Hagerstown, Maryland. Priscilla and Jake end up going along on this trip, and the movie follows their adventures at the festival. The festival is a celebration of virginity, and the group participates in a series of competitions that test their sexual knowledge.

Priscilla is thrown into an existential crisis as she realizes that she no longer wants to define herself solely based on her virginity or her religious beliefs. She begins to question everything she has been taught by her church and starts to make decisions that go against everything she has been taught to believe.

Jumping back to Priscilla's love life, she and Jake must struggle with the growing feelings they have for each other while Priscilla's church group and Pastor Skip try to keep them apart. Priscilla learns that she doesn't have to define herself according to her religious beliefs and that it's okay to make her own decisions about her life. The movie challenges the idea that a person's worth or value should be based on their virginity, and that everyone should be free to make their own choices.

The movie is a coming-of-age story that explores themes of sexuality, morality, religion, and personal growth. Jenna Dewan delivers a strong performance as Priscilla, while Bo Burnham provides comic relief as her love interest Jake. The movie also features an impressive supporting cast including Brianne Davis, Rob Schneider, and Chase Ryan Jeffery.

Overall, American Virgin is an entertaining comedy that will make viewers laugh while also encouraging them to think about the choices they make and the importance of self-discovery. The movie ultimately sends a positive message about self-acceptance and the importance of making choices that feel right for oneself rather than adhering to societal or religious expectations.

American Virgin is a 2009 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.3.
