APT is a South Korean horror film directed by Ahn Byeong-ki and released in 2006. The story revolves around a woman named A-jeong, played by So-Young Ko, who moves into a new apartment complex. The complex is supposed to be a luxury building, but as A-jeong discovers, there is something sinister lurking in the shadows. As the story unfolds, A-jeong becomes increasingly isolated and afraid as strange things continue to happen around her.

The film begins with A-jeong, a beautiful classical pianist, moving into a luxury apartment building. She is excited about her new surroundings and makes friends with some of her neighbors, including Sang-woo, played by Seong-jin Kang, who is a doctor, and Jae-yong, played by Jang Hie-jin, who is an aspiring film director. However, it soon becomes apparent that there is something odd about the building.

A-jeong begins to experience strange occurrences in her new home. These events range from minor irritations, such as the wallpaper peeling off the wall, to more terrifying events such as seeing a ghostly figure in the elevator. A-jeong tries to ignore the strange happenings, but as they become more frequent and more alarming, she starts to investigate.

A-jeong discovers that the previous tenant of her apartment died under mysterious circumstances. She also learns that many of the other tenants in the building have experienced strange events. This leads A-jeong to start investigating the cause of these occurrences.

As she delves deeper into the mystery, A-jeong discovers that the building has a dark past. The complex was built on the site of a former mental institution, and the ghosts of the former patients are said to haunt the building. However, as A-jeong uncovers more about the building's history, she realizes that the situation is far more complicated than she imagined.

The film is a classic ghost story, filled with tension and suspense. The director, Ahn Byeong-ki, is known for his ability to build tension slowly and steadily, creating a sense of dread that permeates the entire film. The cinematography is excellent, with the camera lingering on creepy details, such as the wallpaper peeling off the walls, or the flickering of lights.

The acting in the film is also excellent. So-Young Ko gives a nuanced and understated performance as A-jeong. She is at once vulnerable and strong, and her character's journey is compelling. Seong-jin Kang as Sang-woo is also excellent, providing a calming presence amidst the chaos. Jang Hie-jin as Jae-yong provides a touch of humor amidst the horror, offering some welcome relief from the tension.

Overall, APT is an excellent horror film that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It is a well-crafted ghost story with a strong cast, excellent direction, and a compelling plot. If you are a fan of horror films, APT is definitely worth watching.
