Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold is an outrageous 90s film that blends sci-fi, horror, and comedy into a zany and entertaining package. Directed by Fred Olen Ray and starring J.J. North, Ted Monte, and Raelyn Saalman, this movie tells the story of a young woman who gets exposed to a strange serum that turns her into a giant. The film begins like your typical B-movie, with a struggling model named Angel Grace (played by J.J. North) trying to make it in the cutthroat world of fashion. She's getting by with small gigs here and there, but her real dream is to become a Playmate in Hugh Hefner's magazine. One day, while at a photo shoot, she gets exposed to a mysterious serum that gives her incredible height and strength. At first, Angel is thrilled with her new powers, as they help her break into Hef's estate and land a photoshoot as the centerfold. However, things quickly turn dark when she realizes that the serum also has some terrifying side effects, and she struggles to control her monstrous new form.

The film is essentially a parody of the classic horror concept of a mad scientist experimenting with dangerous chemicals, but with a twist that makes it even more ridiculous. The serum that Angel is exposed to is a combination of frog DNA and toxic waste, which has the unfortunate side effect of turning her into a giant, green-skinned woman. The filmmakers lean into the absurdity of this premise, portraying Angel's transformation as a combination of gross-out body horror and wacky physical comedy.

J.J. North delivers an enjoyable performance as Angel, oscillating between wide-eyed innocence and ferocious anger as her character is forced to confront the consequences of her newfound size. She's supported by a cast of equally campy characters, including Ted Monte as Angel's clueless photographer boyfriend, and Raelyn Saalman as a rival model who is jealous of Angel's rise to fame.

One of the standout features of Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold is its production design. Despite its low budget, the film manages to create some impressive sets and special effects that give it a distinct visual style. The Playboy estate, where a majority of the film takes place, is designed to look like a futuristic laboratory, complete with neon lights and holographic screens. Meanwhile, Angel's towering form is brought to life through a combination of practical effects and green screen technology, allowing her to interact with the world in some creative and hilarious ways.

The film's tone is a mix of horror and comedy, with a heavy emphasis on the latter. While there are some legitimately creepy moments, such as when Angel's transformation starts to become uncontrollable, the overall mood is irreverent and tongue-in-cheek. There are plenty of silly gags and one-liners, as well as some surprisingly raunchy content (it is a movie about Playboy models, after all). While some viewers may find the humor to be too juvenile or crass, fans of the genre will likely appreciate the film's willingness to throw caution to the wind and embrace its inherent ridiculousness.

Overall, Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold is a movie that knows exactly what it wants to be and has fun with it. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's an entertaining romp that will satisfy fans of campy horror-comedies. With its over-the-top plot, hammy acting, and wacky production design, this film is a great example of the kind of low-budget wackiness that has made B-movies a beloved subgenre.
