Babilonia is a 1987 drama film set in Portugal during the final days of the Salazar dictatorship. The film follows the lives of three characters: Emanuel, a talented musician who dreams of escaping poverty and becoming a famous rock star; Miguel, a wealthy businessman with a shady past who is involved in smuggling and other illicit activities; and Ana, a beautiful and enigmatic woman who is caught between these two men.

Vincent Spano plays Emanuel, a talented but struggling musician who dreams of making it big in the music industry. In order to achieve his dream, he becomes involved with Miguel, played by Joaquim de Almeida, a charismatic and wealthy businessman who promises to help him get a recording contract. However, as Emanuel becomes more deeply involved with Miguel, he begins to learn about his shady dealings and soon finds himself caught in a dangerous world of drugs, violence, and corruption.

At the same time, Emanuel becomes increasingly drawn to Ana, played by Greta Scacchi, a mysterious and alluring woman who seems to hold the key to his success. As he becomes more involved with Ana, Emanuel begins to uncover the dark secrets of her past and realizes that she too is caught up in Miguel's dangerous world.

As the film progresses, the lives of these three characters become more and more intertwined, and they find themselves caught up in a web of violence, betrayal, and deception. Emanuel discovers that the road to fame and success is not as glamorous as he once imagined, while Ana struggles to come to terms with her own past and her feelings for both Emanuel and Miguel. Meanwhile, Miguel finds himself facing dangerous enemies and must use all of his wits and resources to stay alive.

Babilonia is a tense and gripping drama that explores the dark underbelly of Portugal during the final days of the Salazar dictatorship. The film is beautifully shot, with stunning cinematography that captures both the grittiness and glamour of its setting. The performances are also excellent, with Vincent Spano, Joaquim de Almeida, and Greta Scacchi each delivering nuanced and compelling performances that bring their characters to life.
