Bad Ass is an action film released in 2012, directed by Craig Moss, and loosely based on a viral video depicting a senior citizen, Thomas Bruso, knocking out a younger man on a city bus in Oakland, California. The movie stars Danny Trejo as Frank Vega, a Vietnam veteran who is fed up with the injustices of his society and decides to take matters into his own hands. Along with his best friend, Bernie (played by Harrison Page), Frank embarks on a vigilante mission to clean up the streets of Los Angeles by any means necessary.

The film opens with Frank Vega as a humble, working-class man who has endured a lifetime of discrimination and hardship. He is a widower who lives in a small apartment, works as a handyman at a nursing home, and has a strained relationship with his daughter. Despite his struggles, Frank maintains a strong sense of pride and refuses to back down from anyone who tries to push him around.

One day, Frank witnesses a group of bikers attacking an elderly man and steps in to defend him. The incident is captured on a bystander's camera and quickly goes viral, turning Frank into a national hero. The media attention soon attracts the attention of the local police, who are impressed by Frank's bravery and offer him a medal of honor. However, Frank declines the offer, realizing that it will not change the systemic issues that plague his community.

As Frank continues to witness the corruption and violence in his city, he becomes more and more frustrated with the lack of accountability for those in power. When his best friend, Bernie, is beaten into a coma by a group of thugs, Frank decides that he has had enough. He dons a black beret, dark sunglasses, and a leather jacket, and takes to the streets as a vigilante, seeking justice for the powerless.

Frank's crusade quickly gains momentum, as more and more people begin to rally behind him. He becomes known as the "Bad Ass," a moniker that he embraces with pride. Despite the dangers and obstacles that he faces, Frank remains determined to bring down the corrupt politicians, corporate executives, and gang members who have been terrorizing his city.

The film features numerous action sequences, including several brutal fight scenes and car chases, as well as a strong element of social commentary. Bad Ass tackles issues such as police brutality, economic inequality, and the criminalization of poverty. While the film's gritty style and over-the-top humor may not be for everyone, it is definitely a fun and engaging ride for fans of the vigilante genre.

Overall, Bad Ass is a well-made action film that delivers on its promise of adrenaline-fueled thrills and social commentary. While it may not be the most thought-provoking or nuanced movie out there, it is definitely a fun and entertaining ride that is worth checking out for fans of the genre. Danny Trejo's charismatic performance and the film's high-octane action make it a solid choice for a Friday night movie viewing.
