Beast Stalker is an intense Hong Kong crime thriller from 2008, directed by Dante Lam and starring Nicholas Tse, Jingchu Zhang, and Nick Cheung. The movie follows the story of Sergeant Tong (Nick Cheung), a seasoned cop who has dedicated his life to catching bad guys. After a drug bust goes awry and a young girl gets killed, Tong becomes obsessed with apprehending the drug lord responsible for her death.

However, Tong's pursuit of justice is complicated by a number of factors. First and foremost is the fact that he has to balance his work with his personal life, which includes caring for his mute daughter. Secondly, the key witness in the case turns out to be a traumatized young girl named Ling (Jingchu Zhang), who is suffering from amnesia and can't remember anything about the incident. Finally, Tong's investigation leads him to a vicious gangster named Zhou (Nicholas Tse), who is not only involved in drugs but also in a kidnapping ring.

As the movie progresses, Tong finds himself caught in a web of violence and corruption that threatens to destroy everything he cares about. He becomes increasingly obsessed with taking down Zhou, but this puts himself and his loved ones in danger. Meanwhile, Ling gradually begins to recover her memory and realizes that Zhou is in fact the man who kidnapped her and sold her into prostitution. Determined to bring him to justice, she teams up with Tong, and together they embark on a dangerous mission to take down the gangster and his criminal empire.

Beast Stalker is a tightly constructed, well-crafted thriller that grips the viewer from start to finish. The pacing is excellent, with plenty of action and suspense, and the story is filled with twists and turns that keep the audience guessing. The film features some stunning set-pieces, including a thrilling car chase through the crowded streets of Hong Kong and a tense showdown in a claustrophobic elevator.

The performances in Beast Stalker are also top-notch. Nick Cheung delivers a powerful, nuanced portrayal of a cop struggling to balance his work with his family life, and his chemistry with the young actress who plays his daughter is touching and believable. Jingchu Zhang is equally impressive as the traumatized Ling, bringing depth and complexity to her character as she slowly regains her memory and takes on the gangsters who ruined her life. And Nicholas Tse shines as the charismatic, terrifying Zhou, who is one of the most memorable villains in recent Hong Kong cinema.

One of the most striking aspects of Beast Stalker is its exploration of the theme of justice. The film raises questions about what justice really means, and whether it is worth sacrificing everything - including one's own morality - in the pursuit of it. Through the character of Tong, the movie shows how the desire for revenge can lead to obsession and destruction, while Ling's journey highlights the importance of forgiveness and redemption.

Overall, Beast Stalker is a gripping and thought-provoking thriller that is sure to satisfy fans of crime cinema. It's a stylish and entertaining film that is also full of heart and depth, and it showcases some of the best talent that Hong Kong cinema has to offer.
