Bedtime Stories is a 2008 comedy film directed by Adam Shankman and starring Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Courteney Cox, and Russell Brand. The story follows the character of Skeeter Bronson (Sandler), a hotel handyman whose life takes a turn for the fantastical when the stories he tells his niece and nephew at bedtime start to come true in real life.

Skeeter is a hardworking hotel handyman who has always dreamed of owning his own hotel. When his sister asks him to look after her kids for a week, he sees it as an opportunity to bond with them and share his love of storytelling. However, his plans are interrupted by the arrival of Kendall (Cox), the new owner of the hotel where he works. Kendall is planning to demolish the hotel to build a new one, and Skeeter is worried about his job and the future of the hotel.

Despite his worries, Skeeter begins to tell his niece and nephew bedtime stories that he creates on the fly, drawing on their suggestions and his own imagination. The stories include medieval adventures, space aliens, and even a Western movie about a cowboy named Skeeter. To his surprise, he starts to notice that the stories are coming true in unexpected ways. Each morning, he wakes up to find that something from the story has become real, such as a rainstorm of gumballs or a sudden appearance of a giant hamster.

As the week progresses, Skeeter realizes that the stories are connected to the events in his own life, and that he has a chance to change his fate by telling the right story. With the help of his friend and co-worker Mickey (Brand) and his love interest Jill (Russell), Skeeter begins to craft stories that will help him win over Kendall, save the hotel, and maybe even find love.

Bedtime Stories is a charming family film that combines elements of fantasy, romance, and humor. Sandler is in top form as the lovable but bumbling Skeeter, who learns to believe in himself and the power of his storytelling. Russell and Cox are equally delightful as the love interests who provide the emotional heart of the story, while Brand brings his trademark quirkiness and humor to the role of Mickey.

The film uses a clever device to showcase Skeeter's stories, with scenes from the stories intercutting with the main narrative. These scenes are imaginatively designed and shot, drawing on the conventions of various genres to create a sense of playful fun. The movie also features an impressive supporting cast, including Richard Griffiths as the hotel's eccentric owner, Guy Pearce as Kendall's scheming assistant, and Lucy Lawless as a mysterious Greek goddess.

Bedtime Stories is a movie that appeals to both kids and adults, offering a fun and magical experience that will leave audiences feeling good. The film's themes about the importance of family, imagination, and believing in yourself are universal, making it a great choice for a family movie night or a lazy afternoon in. Overall, Bedtime Stories is a delightful and heartwarming movie that is sure to leave a smile on your face.

Bedtime Stories is a 2008 fantasy movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0 and a MetaScore of 33.
