Biwi Ho To Aisi is a 1988 Indian Hindi-language family drama film directed by J.K. Bihari and starring Rekha, Farooq Shaikh, and Bindu Desai. The film revolves around the life of an idealistic young woman named Shalu (Rekha) who falls in love with a handsome but unemployed man named Ravi (Farooq Shaikh) against the wishes of her conservative aunt Pinky (Bindu Desai).

The story begins with Shalu, a charming and vivacious young woman who lives with her aunt Pinky and uncle Jagdish (Kader Khan) in a large mansion in Mumbai. Shalu is an intelligent and independent woman who has high aspirations for herself and wants to live her life on her own terms. However, her conservative aunt Pinky has other plans for her and wants her to get married to a wealthy and influential man who can provide her with financial security and status.

One day, Shalu meets Ravi, a struggling musician who has come to Mumbai to make a career in the music industry. Despite his lack of success, Shalu is drawn to Ravi's charm and easy-going nature and starts to spend time with him. Ravi, on the other hand, is deeply in love with Shalu and sees her as the one true love of his life.

However, things take a turn for the worse when Pinky finds out about Shalu's relationship with Ravi and is strongly opposed to it. She tells Shalu that Ravi is not the right man for her and that she should instead marry a wealthy businessman named Kishan (Shashi Kapoor). Even though Shalu is confused and torn between her love for Ravi and her duty towards her aunt and uncle, she ultimately decides to stand by Ravi and commits to him.

From here on, the film takes us on a journey through the ups and downs of Shalu and Ravi's relationship as they struggle to make ends meet and build a life together. We see how Ravi faces constant rejection from music producers and is forced to take up odd jobs to make ends meet. Shalu, on the other hand, faces constant pressure from Pinky and Jagdish to break up with Ravi and marry Kishan.

The film is a beautiful depiction of the Indian family system and the role of women in it. It portrays the struggles and sacrifices that women have to make in order to fit into the patriarchal mold of society. The character of Pinky is a classic example of how a woman is conditioned to think and act in a certain way and how difficult it is to break free from that conditioning.

Rekha's performance in the film is outstanding, and she brings to life the character of Shalu with remarkable clarity and conviction. Farooq Shaikh, too, shines in his role as Ravi, and he brings an earthy realness to his character that is rare to find in Bollywood films.

Overall, Biwi Ho To Aisi is a delightful film that is sure to win your heart with its endearing performances, beautiful music, and relatable story. It is a must-watch for anyone who is looking for a heartwarming Bollywood drama that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
