Black Sheep is a 2006 New Zealand horror-comedy movie directed and written by Jonathan King. The storyline of the movie revolves around genetically engineered sheep that turn into bloodthirsty monsters after consuming a serum. The movie is set in a remote farmhouse in New Zealand, where a group of genetically engineered sheep escapes from a laboratory.

The main character of the movie is Henry, played by Nathan Meister, who returns to the farm where he grew up to sell his share to his estranged brother Angus, portrayed by Peter Feeney. Henry is afraid of sheep, as he had a traumatic experience with them in his childhood. During his stay, the sheep escape from a laboratory located on the farm, and he teams up with local farmhand Tucker, played by Tammy Davis, to fight off the mutant sheep.

Oliver Driver played Grant, a scientist who created the mutant sheep, and Tandi Wright played Experience, his colleague. Grant had a vision of creating a better breed of sheep, which would produce more lucrative wool. He used genetic engineering to breed an animal that is part sheep, part human, and part fish, with the fish allowing the sheep to breathe underwater. Grant also created a serum to cure the sheep of a virus, but when the sheep consumed the serum, they turned into monsters.

The movie opens with a flashback to Henry's childhood, where he causes an accident that kills his father. Henry's father had experimented with sheep and intentionally bred them to have humanlike faces. Henry accidentally killed one of the sheep in a fit of fear and anger, causing the other sheep to become agitated and killing his father.

The movie is full of hilarious scenes and gore, and the humor is slightly dark. For instance, towards the end of the movie, Grant turns into a mutant human-sheep, and there is a scene where his genitals fall off. There is plenty of action and bloodshed, with Tucker using a chainsaw and Henry using a shotgun to fight off the mutant sheep.

The movie showcases the beauty of the New Zealand countryside, and the cinematography is excellent. The director also displays a high level of creativity, with the mutant sheep having different personalities and abilities, such as one that can jump very high and another that can camouflage itself.

Overall, Black Sheep is a highly entertaining movie that combines horror and comedy in a unique way. The movie has a great cast and an intriguing storyline that keeps the audience entertained from start to finish. The humor is slightly dark, but it is not overly gory, making the movie enjoyable for people who are not horror fans. If you're in the mood for a horror-comedy that is slightly different from the usual, Black Sheep is definitely worth checking out.

Black Sheep is a 2006 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8 and a MetaScore of 62.
