Blood for Dracula is a horror-comedy movie from 1974. The movie is directed by Paul Morrissey and stars Joe Dallesandro, Udo Kier, and Vittorio De Sica. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows the story of Count Dracula, played by Udo Kier, as he tries to find a virgin to drink her blood and thus regain his strength. Due to the changing conventions of the time, the Count is having great difficulty finding a virgin, which is essential for him to survive.

Dracula is joined on his journey by his assistant Anton, played by Arno Juerging, and his scullery maid Mario, played by not-famous-at-the-time Stefania Casini. They travel to Italy, where they plan to find a suitable virgin by seeking out the support of an aristocratic family with four beautiful daughters. The father of the family Don Pasquale, played by Vittorio De Sica, would pledge his daughters' virginity in the hope of starting putative marriage with rich men. Monsignor (Francesco dalla Chiesa), who marries only poor girls, is against this new idea, but Don Pasquale insists adding that among these rich men there could be someone ready to marry the eldest daughter, Sylvia (Silvia Dionisio).

The daughters of the family, however, prove to be more trouble than expected. The eldest daughter, Sylvia, is promiscuous and not a virgin. The second daughter, Licia, played by Dominique Darel, is initially attracted to the Count, but then changes her mind. The third daughter, Rubinia, played by Nicoletta Elmi, is a child and thus not suitable for Dracula's purposes. The fourth daughter, Antonietta, played by Erica Blanc, is very religious and has already decided to become a nun, much to the disappointment of her family.

Despite Antonietta's commitment to her religious beliefs, Dracula is drawn to her because of her purity and innocence. He decides that she is the perfect candidate for him to drink from. However, things do not quite go according to plan, as there are a series of unexpected events that take the action in a different direction. It turns out that Antonietta may not be as pure and innocent as she first appeared, which Dracula has to deal with in order to achieve his goal.

The film is known for its quirky, humorous approach to horror, and its unusual storyline. Joe Dallesandro's performance as Mario is particularly noteworthy, as the character provides a lot of the comedy in the movie. The interactions between the characters, their family dynamic and cultural differences, as well as Dracula's desperate hunt for a virgin, are all presented in a light-hearted way. The cinematography and the costumes are also noteworthy, as the film has a unique, colorful aesthetic that sets it apart from other horror movies of the time.

Overall, Blood for Dracula is an entertaining horror-comedy that will appeal to fans of the genre. The film is campy, stylish, and features an eclectic cast of characters that are easy to root for despite their faults.

Blood for Dracula is a 1973 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.1.
