The film Blue Moon, released in 2002, is a Slovakian-German comedy directed by Andrea Maria Dusl. The movie is a fun and light-hearted comedy that revolves around the character of Mike, played by Josef Hader, who is a private detective from Vienna. Mike is a rather unremarkable looking man in his mid-forties, with shaggy hair, a beer belly, and clothes that are slightly outdated. He is a rather dull and uncharismatic character, but his complexity lies in his unusual method of investigations. Mike's unique approach to detective work is what makes him stand out from other private investigators.

The movie begins with Mike being hired by a beautiful Ukrainian woman named Olga (played by Victoria Malektorovych) who wants him to investigate the murder of her husband. As Mike investigates the case, he finds himself in a complex web of deceit and intrigue.

With no idea who the real killer is and no clues to the crime, Mike decides to take a break from the case and gets a little sidetracked with his own life problems. This includes dealing with his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, who is a rather annoying man named Kurt (played by Detlev Buck).

Throughout the movie, Mike's quirky personality and unconventional methods make for plenty of comedic moments. While he may not be the most competent investigator, his bumbling mannerisms and unyielding determination make for amusing scenes throughout the film.

In the meantime, he also becomes more involved with Olga, deepening their relationship, and raising the question of whether Mike's personal involvement in the case will compromise his ability to solve it.

Blue Moon is a film that doesn't take itself too seriously, but it's a lot of fun to watch. The movie's witty and colorful characters are the backbone of the production, with each character's sense of humor complementing the others. Josef Hader's portrayal of Mike is masterful, and his comedic timing provides for some hilarious scenes. Victoria Malektorovych is also excellent, with her impressive range of emotions making her character more relatable throughout the movie.

Overall, Blue Moon is a fantastic movie that combines humor with a complex and engaging plot. Anyone who enjoys detective films with a twist, where missteps lead to unexpected results, will surely enjoy this movie. The film's unique approach to storytelling, as well as its relatable characters, make it a great choice for a lighthearted evening entertainment. With its colorful characters and hilarious situations, Blue Moon is sure to leave audiences in a great mood.
