Buried Alive is a tense and claustrophobic thriller from 2007 that takes place entirely inside a buried coffin. The movie stars Terence Jay as Paul Conroy, an American contract worker in Iraq who wakes up to find himself buried alive in a wooden coffin with just a Zippo lighter and a cell phone. As the movie begins, we see Paul being attacked and captured by insurgents in Iraq. The next thing he knows, he is waking up inside a wooden box with no idea how he got there. At first, he thinks it's a prank, but as the seconds tick by, the reality of his situation sets in. He is trapped inside the coffin with no way to get out and no idea where he is.

As Paul tries to come to grips with his situation, he quickly realizes that time is running out. The air inside the coffin is running out, and he has only a limited amount of oxygen. To make matters worse, he soon discovers that he has been buried with a cell phone, but the battery is almost dead. He has just a few minutes to try to make contact with the outside world and seek help.

The movie plays out in real-time entirely inside the coffin as Paul tries to call for help and figure out how to escape. At first, he tries to call his family back home in the United States, but no one answers. He then tries to call the FBI, the local police, and even a random woman he finds in his phone's contact list. But no one seems to be able to help him.

As the minutes tick by, Paul's panic begins to set in. He starts to remember his life back home, reliving his memories to keep himself from losing his mind. We see his relationship with his wife and children, and his regrets at not spending more time with them. We also see his interactions with the people he worked with in Iraq, and the effect the war has had on him.

Throughout the movie, we also get glimpses of what is happening outside the coffin. We see the efforts of the authorities to try to find Paul and rescue him before it's too late. We see his family desperately trying to get in touch with him, and ultimately, we see the shocking truth behind his abduction.

Buried Alive is a masterful thriller that takes a simple premise and turns it into a gripping and unforgettable experience. Director Robert Kurtzman keeps the tension high throughout the movie, using every tool at his disposal to create an atmosphere of claustrophobia and terror. The screenplay by Art Monterastelli and David A. Schow is taut and gripping, never letting the audience off the hook for a second.

The performances by the three main actors are excellent. Terence Jay is particularly impressive as Paul, conveying a range of emotions as his situation becomes increasingly dire. Leah Rachel is also excellent as his wife, delivering a heart-wrenching performance as she struggles to come to terms with what has happened to her husband. Steve Sandvoss is the least developed of the three, but he still manages to make an impact as the man responsible for Paul's abduction.

Overall, Buried Alive is a must-see movie for fans of psychological thrillers. It's a harrowing and unforgettable experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final credits roll. Highly recommended.

Buried Alive is a 2007 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.9.
