Carry On Up the Jungle is a 1970 British comedy film, directed by Gerald Thomas and produced by Peter Rogers. It is the 22nd installment in the long-running Carry On series and features a star-studded cast including Frankie Howerd, Sidney James, and Charles Hawtrey. The film is set in the lush and exotic jungles of South America, where the British Consul Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond (Sidney James) leads a team of bumbling adventurers on a quest to find the fabled and valuable Oozlum bird. Along the way, they encounter a host of colorful characters, including cannibals, a tribe of topless women, and a voluptuous jungle queen, played by Valerie Leon.

Frankie Howerd stars as Professor Inigo Tinkle, a hapless scientist who constantly finds himself in precarious situations. Meanwhile, Charles Hawtrey plays the role of jungle guide Bill Boosey, who struggles to keep the eclectic group of adventurers on track as they navigate the treacherous undergrowth.

The film is packed with the trademark humor that has made the Carry On series so beloved among audiences for decades. Fans of the series will appreciate the familiar puns and slapstick comedy, while newcomers will appreciate the lighthearted and irreverent tone.

Despite its many comedic virtues, the film also features a surprisingly complex and intricate plot. The quest for the Oozlum bird is fraught with dangers and obstacles, and the team must work together to overcome them all. Along the way, they learn important lessons about teamwork, friendship, and perseverance.

One of the standout performances in the film comes from Kenneth Connor, who plays the role of Claude Chumley, a timid accountant who is initially reluctant to join the expedition. As events unfold, however, Chumley proves himself to be an unexpected hero, earning the respect and admiration of his comrades.

The film also features a number of memorable musical numbers, including an upbeat rendition of "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" and a sultry dance number from Valerie Leon.

Overall, Carry On Up the Jungle is a delightful romp through the heart of the rainforest, filled with humor, adventure, and unexpected surprises. It's a must-see for fans of the Carry On series, and a great introduction for newcomers looking for a bit of lighthearted fun.
