Cash and Curry is a British independent film that was released in 2008. It was directed by Sarjit Bains and stars Ameet Chana, Ronny Jhutti, Pooja Shah, and Manish Patel. The film follows the exploits of three friends - Johnny (Ameet Chana), Omar (Ronny Jhutti), and Charlie (Manish Patel) - who are trying to make a living in the rough and tumble world of London's East End. Johnny is the leader of the trio and the most streetwise of the group. However, he has a dark past that he is trying to leave behind. Omar is the youngest member of the group and is always looking for a quick score. Charlie is the middleman who helps the group get their hands on anything they need.

The three friends stumble upon a stash of stolen drugs and decide to sell them for a quick profit. However, they soon find themselves in over their heads when they are pursued by a dangerous gangster named Danny Nolan (Steven Berkoff). Danny is a ruthless criminal who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the drugs and the money.

As the trio tries to evade Danny and his henchmen, they are forced to confront their own demons and face the consequences of their actions. Along the way, they also encounter a number of colorful characters, including a flirtatious barmaid (Pooja Shah), a corrupt police officer (Omid Djalili), and a mysterious woman who seems to know more than she lets on (Ayesha Dharker).

One of the strengths of Cash and Curry is its portrayal of London's East End. The film does an excellent job of capturing the gritty, urban feel of the area and the characters who inhabit it. The film also handles the themes of redemption and friendship with sensitivity and depth. Despite the characters' flaws and mistakes, the audience is able to root for them and hope for their success.

The performances in Cash and Curry are also noteworthy. Ameet Chana gives a strong performance as Johnny, the complex and conflicted leader of the group. Ronny Jhutti brings energy and enthusiasm to the role of Omar, while Manish Patel provides the necessary comic relief as Charlie. Pooja Shah is also excellent as the barmaid who catches Johnny's eye.

The film's soundtrack is another highlight. The music is a mix of traditional Indian and contemporary British styles, and it adds to the film's overall atmosphere.

Overall, Cash and Curry is an entertaining and well-executed film that offers a fresh perspective on the crime genre. The film's strong performances, nuanced characters, and gritty setting make for a compelling and enjoyable viewing experience.
