Charas is an Indian crime thriller film from 1976, directed by Ramanand Sagar and starring Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Ajit Khan. The story of the film follows Dharamdas (Dharmendra), a simple and honest farmer who comes to the city looking for a job. He meets a man named Bhola (Ajit Khan), who offers him a job as a truck driver. Dharamdas soon finds out that he is transporting illegal goods, and he decides to leave the job. However, he is framed for a murder he didn't commit, and he is forced to go on the run.

During his escape, he meets Champa (Hema Malini), a beautiful young woman who was also wrongfully accused of a crime. The two of them team up and try to find evidence to clear their names. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and dangerous characters, including the ruthless smuggler Sir John (Danny Denzongpa) and his henchmen.

The film is known for its gripping plot, intense action sequences, and memorable performances by the lead actors.
