Chastity is a 1969 drama film that stars Cher in her first leading role. Chastity then meets a Vietnam War veteran named Eddie, played by Steve Whittaker. Eddie is also a troubled young person, having returned from the war with PTSD and struggling to adjust to civilian life. The two form a bond and travel together, eventually ending up at a commune in New Mexico.

Throughout the course of the film, Chastity tries to figure out who she is and what she wants out of life. She struggles with her own identity, as well as her relationships with the people around her. Chastity ultimately learns that it is up to her to define herself and create her own path in life, rather than letting others dictate her future.

Cher gives a strong performance in her first leading role, portraying Chastity as a fiercely independent and resilient young woman. The film is notable for its portrayal of the counterculture of the late 1960s, as well as its exploration of themes such as gender, sexuality, and identity.
