Watch Dance, Subaru!

Dance, Subaru! is a Japanese dramatic film adaptation of a popular comic book and was released in 2009 through Warner Bros. Japan. The film centers upon a young ballerina named Subaru (played by Meisa Kuroki) whose life has taken some traumatic turns: her mother and brother are dead, and her father is buried in depression. Ballet gives Subaru her release when she discovers it at the age of 10 with the help of a strict but compassionate nightclub owner. However, dance brings its own set of challenges to her life, including competitive fellow dancers, her father's disapproval, and a chance to win a scholarship at an international competition.

Subaru must learn to balance her love of dance with her day-to-day realities, and learn how to use both to ultimately benefit herself and those around her.
