In this film, we enjoy the unique mind of comedian Dane Cook. Also an actor, this movie shows his stand-up prowess at the famed Madison Square Garden. His comic delivery is unique among his peers, making the viewer feel as though he were your raucus buddy. His act is hilarious, of course, sometimes a little off-color, but always worth a good belly laugh.
With a long tradition of bringing the talents of stand-up comedians to the sitcom world ("Seinfeld" and, more recently, "Whitney" are a couple of example), it was only a matter of time before NBC decided to pursue one of the most popular comedians out there: Dane Cook. Cook has struck a talent deal with the Peacock, with the network hoping that he'll bring them a new comedy with some ratings appeal. Though NBC has a very strong lineup of comedies that are a hit with critics ("Community," "Parks and Recreation," "Up All Night"), they aren't quite as strong in terms of viewership.
