Dead Air is a horror film from 2009 that centers around radio host, Logan Burnhardt (Bill Moseley), who hosts a late-night radio show where he offers listeners a chance to air their grievances. However, one of his callers turns out to be a deranged killer who goes by the name of Cyrus (David Moscow). As the show progresses, Cyrus takes control of the station and starts to pick off the staff one by one. Burnhardt, who is initially skeptical of Cyrus' threats, realizes too late that he and his team are in real danger. Meanwhile, the police, led by Sheriff Maddy Rierdon (Patricia Tallman) and her deputy, Gil (Joshua Feinman), race to the scene to try and save the hostages and stop Cyrus' killing spree.

The tension builds throughout the film as the radio station staff tries to outmaneuver Cyrus, who uses his knowledge of the station's inner workings to his advantage. Meanwhile, Rierdon and Gil navigate their way through the building, trying to find a way to communicate with the hostages and form a plan to take down Cyrus.

Along the way, the film touches on themes of isolation, community, and communication. The radio show, which initially seemed like a platform for people to vent their frustrations, becomes a lifeline for those trapped inside the station. The characters are forced to confront their own weaknesses and biases as they try to work together to survive.

The acting performances in Dead Air are solid, with Bill Moseley giving a particularly convincing portrayal of a jaded radio host who slowly realizes the danger he and his team are in. Corbin Bernsen also shines in a brief role as a businessman who unknowingly plays a key part in Cyrus' plan.

The film's pacing is well-done, with the tension slowly building as the situation inside the station becomes more dire. The use of the radio station as a focal point also adds an interesting layer to the film, as the audience is able to hear both the danger approaching and the hopes and fears of the hostages trapped inside.

While the film is a solid entry in the horror genre, it does have some flaws. The script can be predictable at times, and some of the characters are underdeveloped. Additionally, the film's lighting can be inconsistent, making it difficult to see some of the action.

Overall, Dead Air is a solid horror film with a unique premise and strong performances from its cast. It effectively uses tension and atmosphere to create a sense of impending doom, and is sure to satisfy fans of the genre.

Dead Air is a 2008 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.2.
