Deadline Auto Theft is a 1983 action film directed, written and starred by H.B. Halicki. The movie is a sequel to his cult classic, Gone in 60 Seconds, and follows a similar plot. The story revolves around a group of car thieves led by Maindrian Pace (Halicki), who set out to steal 48 luxury cars in a single night. However, things take a dramatic turn when their plan goes awry and they find themselves hunted by the police and a rival gang.

The movie opens with a car theft gone wrong that sets the stage for the rest of the film. Maindrian and his team of expert car thieves, including his girlfriend Pumpkin (Marion Busia) and his partner-in-crime Stanley (Jerry Daugirda), are hired by a mysterious employer to steal 48 high-end vehicles in one night. Maindrian accepts the job and sets out to recruit his old crew, and together they plan an audacious heist that involves multiple dummy cars, high-speed chases and daring stunts.

As the night progresses, things start to go wrong for Maindrian and his team. They discover that one of their cars has been sabotaged, and they are forced to ditch it and replace it with a similar model. To add to their problems, the police have launched a massive manhunt for the stolen cars, and Maindrian and his team are forced to engage in a series of high-speed chases and daring escapes.

As the night wears on, Maindrian begins to realize that there is more to this heist than just stealing cars. He uncovers a conspiracy involving his mysterious employer, corrupt police officers, and a rival gang that is also after the stolen cars. He also begins to suspect that Pumpkin might be working against him and planning to betray him to their employer.

The movie is filled with exciting car chases and stunts that are a hallmark of Halicki's films. There are scenes of cars racing along highways, through narrow alleyways, and even jumping over elevated train tracks. Halicki, who was a skilled driver himself, performs many of these stunts himself, often risking his own safety in the process.

The film also features an impressive array of cars that will delight car enthusiasts. The stolen cars include iconic models such as the Lamborghini Countach, Porsche 911, and Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Many of these cars are destroyed during the course of the movie, adding to the sense of danger and excitement.

Despite its low budget, Deadline Auto Theft is a well-made film that showcases Halicki's talent for action filmmaking. The movie is fast-paced and engaging, and the characters are well-developed, making the audience care about what happens to them. The film also has a gritty, realistic feel to it that sets it apart from modern action films that rely heavily on CGI and special effects.

Overall, Deadline Auto Theft is a worthy successor to Gone in 60 Seconds and is sure to appeal to fans of action and car chase movies. It is a classic example of the genre and a testament to Halicki's talent as a filmmaker and stunt driver.
