Watch Death for Five Voices

This biography of 16th Century songwriter Carlo Gesualdo sees Werner Herzog look into both the music and the tragic life of the nobleman who became better known for murdering his wife and her lover. The documentary travels to the castle of Gesualdo, which is said to be haunted and is staffed by a group of eccentrics who try to life the curse in various ways. The story also moves to Naples where the bodies of Gesualdo's wife and lover are preserved in a church and the bed where the murders took place is still in existence.
