Death of a President is a fictional account of the assassination of President George W. Bush. The movie caused a lot of controversy when it was released in 2006 because it came out during a time of heightened political tension and just three years after the real-life assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. The film is presented as if it were a documentary that examines the events leading up to and following the assassination. It begins with President Bush arriving in Chicago to make a speech at a hotel. He is greeted by a small crowd of protesters who are angry about the war in Iraq.

As he leaves the hotel, shots ring out and the president is hit. Chaos ensues as the secret service tries to protect the president and the medical team rushes to save his life. Unfortunately, Bush succumbs to his injuries and dies.

The rest of the movie is dedicated to examining the aftermath of the assassination. The police immediately begin investigating, and the FBI is called in to help. The media swarms the scene, and politicians from both sides of the aisle express their condolences.

One of the most interesting things about Death of a President is how it explores the various conspiracy theories that would inevitably arise from such a significant event. Some people believe that the shooter was a lone gunman, while others think that there was a larger conspiracy at play.

The movie does an excellent job of showing the impact that the assassination would have on the country. People are afraid to leave their homes, and security is tightened at all major events. The presidential chain of succession is explored, and Vice President Dick Cheney is sworn in as the new president.

Perhaps the most controversial aspect of the movie is the use of real footage of President Bush. Throughout the film, the president's face is superimposed onto an actor's body, which makes it look like he is really there. Some people found this to be in poor taste, while others thought it was a clever way to make the movie seem more realistic.

Overall, Death of a President is a thought-provoking film that raises some interesting questions about the nature of politics and power. It is not for the faint of heart, as it contains some disturbing images and graphic violence, but it is a must-see for anyone interested in political thrillers or documentaries.

Death of a President is a 2006 documentary with a runtime of 1 minute. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.3 and a MetaScore of 49.
