Death Sentence is drama movie that was made in 2007. Nick Hume, played by Kevin Bacon, is a father of two sons. At the beginning of the movie, Nick and his son are at a gas station. While there, some thugs rob the gas station, and on their way out they slice Nick's son's throat. Nick witnesses his son being murdered. When Nick realizes that the murderer's will only get a couple years in prison for killing his son in cold blood, Nick starts to plot revenge on the gang members. Nick essentially takes the law into his own hands and seeks out revenge on these gang members one by one. Nick swiftly kills the guy who murdered his son. Come to find out that the thug Nick killed is the lead gang member's brother. The lead gang member gets a tip from a woman putting Nick at the scene of the crime. The lead gang member promises to find and kill Nick's wife and remaining son.
Nick asks the police for protection, and he gets it. But the gang members advance his house anyway and start firing shots. Unfortunately, Nick's wife is shot, and she dies. Nick's youngest son is also shot, but he survives the bullets. The youngest son is taken to the hospital where Nick apologizes to him for not being a better parent.
Nick leaves the hospital undetected by police and staff. Nick obtains guns so he can finally kill the gang leader. The gang leader and his crew have now killed two of Nick's family members and wounded another. With guns in hand, Nick seeks out this gang leader once and for all to avenge his wife and son's death. Nick finds and confronts the lead gang member, and they ironically both get shot. The gang member dies. Nick is seriously wounded but still goes after the remaining gang members so he can complete his mission of revenge.
