This drama, based on the Vladimir Nabokov novel, tells the story of a successful entrepreneur in Germany named Hermann Hermann during Hitler's rise to power. Hermann is an immigrant from Russia who becomes increasingly mentally disturbed by the influence of the Nazi Party. He goes so far as to imagine that he has encountered a man who is his exact double. Hermann begins making plans to escape Germany in favor of taking up residence in Switzerland to not only stop his growing madness but also regain control over his life once again.
