Dharmathin Thalaivan (1988) is an Indian Tamil language movie, which was directed by S. P. Muthuraman, and produced by C. Dhandayuthapani. The movie starred Prabhu, Kushboo, and Nassar in the lead roles. The film was released on 24 June 1988. The story revolves around Raja (played by Prabhu) and his sister, Vasantha (played by Kushboo), who are raised by their kind-hearted grandfather who is an ex-army man. Raja is this day's breadwinner, and he runs a small-scale business. One day, he comes across the villain of the story, Ganga (played by Nassar), who has just killed a businessman. Raja decides to catch Ganga and hand him over to the police. However, Ganga is a very dangerous person, and he has many other wrongdoings to hide. He decides to eliminate Raja, to keep him as a witness to his crimes. But, Vasantha comes to Raja's rescue, and she saves him from Ganga's clutches.

After this incident, Raja and Vasantha's grandfather, who also happens to be Ganga's enemy, gets killed by Ganga. The rest of the story revolves around how Raja and Vasantha take revenge on Ganga and save their family.

The movie highlights family values, and the importance of standing up against injustice. It also tackles corruption and power abuse, and how it affects society as a whole. The movie had a great sense of humor, and the chemistry between the lead actors was outstanding. The supporting cast also gave excellent performances, which added to the overall quality of the film.
