Dhoom is a Bollywood action-thriller movie released in 2004. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the film stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Uday Chopra in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a high-speed bike robbery gang that terrorizes the city, and the efforts of a dedicated cop to catch them. Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Jai Dixit, a no-nonsense police officer who leads a team of officers tasked with investigating a string of daring robberies. The robbers are a band of bikers who steal from high-end stores and flee on their powerful bikes, leaving the police clueless about their whereabouts. Jai Dixit's partner and confidant in the investigation is his goofy sidekick Ali, played by Uday Chopra, who provides much of the comic relief in the film.

The leader of the biker gang is the charismatic and ruthless Kabir, played by John Abraham. Kabir is handsome, suave, and fearless, a man who lives life on the edge and is always one step ahead of the law. Kabir and his gang strike at will, evading capture and leaving behind a trail of destruction.

As the investigation progresses, Jai and Ali realize that they are up against a formidable enemy who is always one step ahead of them. To catch Kabir, they must match his speed, his daring, and his cunning. Taking a page out of Kabir's playbook, Jai and Ali recruit a street bike racer named Sheena, played by Esha Deol, to help them catch the gang. Together, they hatch a plan to lure Kabir and his gang into a trap, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown.

The movie's plot is well-crafted, and the narrative moves at a breakneck pace. The performances by the lead actors are excellent, with John Abraham exuding charisma as the villain Kabir, and Abhishek Bachchan delivering a solid performance as the dedicated cop Jai Dixit. Uday Chopra provides much of the humor in the film, and his comic timing is spot on. The chemistry between the three leads is palpable, and they share a camaraderie that makes the movie all the more enjoyable to watch.

The action sequences in the movie are breathtaking, with high-speed chases, death-defying stunts, and explosive set pieces. The scenes featuring the bikers stealing from high-end stores and outrunning the police are slickly choreographed and shot with great style. The movie's music, composed by Pritam, is catchy, with popular songs like "Dhoom Machale" and "Shikdum" becoming chartbusters.

Overall, Dhoom is a highly entertaining movie that delivers on its promise of being an action-packed thriller. The movie is a showcase of Bollywood's beloved tropes, with its larger-than-life characters, thrilling action sequences, and foot-tapping music. It has all the right ingredients to be a blockbuster hit, and it's no surprise that it spawned a successful franchise with two sequels.

Dhoom is a 2004 action movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 9 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.6.
