Doll Face is a 1945 movie musical that tells the story of Burlesque dancer and performer, Doll Face Carroll, played by Vivian Blaine, who dreams of making it big on Broadway. Alongside her manager and boyfriend, Mike Hannegan, played by Dennis O'Keefe, they get their chance to achieve their dreams when they are approached by Broadway producer, Douglas Jason, played by Perry Como.

The movie starts with Doll Face performing a burlesque show in a small town, where she catches the eye of Mike Hannegan, a talent scout who is impressed by her talent and beauty. He offers her a job in his burlesque troupe, and she accepts, dreaming of making it to the top.

Doll Face quickly becomes a hit in the troupe, but she becomes restless and longs for something more. She wants to perform in bigger venues, and dreams of being on Broadway. Mike, who is also her boyfriend, promises to help her achieve her dreams, but he is content with the success they have had in the burlesque world.

One day, Douglas Jason, a famous Broadway producer, attends one of Doll Face's shows and is impressed by her talent. He offers her a chance to perform in his upcoming Broadway show, but only if she agrees to tone down her burlesque act and become a serious actress.

Doll Face is overjoyed by the opportunity and accepts the offer, but Mike is hesitant. He worries that Doll Face will lose her charm and unique style, and that the show won't be a success without it. However, Doll Face is determined to make it work, and begins to take acting lessons.

As the show approaches, Doll Face begins to feel the pressure of becoming a Broadway star. She is worried about living up to the expectations of Douglas and the audience, and struggles to find her place in the new world. Meanwhile, Mike becomes jealous of Douglas and Doll Face's relationship, and begins to feel left out.

Despite the challenges, Doll Face's Broadway debut is a success, and she becomes a star overnight. However, she soon realizes that fame and success come at a price, as she is forced to sacrifice her own identity and values to fit into the mold of a serious actress. She realizes that she misses the excitement and freedom of her old burlesque life, and ultimately must decide what is more important to her: fame, or staying true to herself and her roots.

Overall, Doll Face is a heartwarming musical that explores the themes of ambition, identity, and staying true to oneself, through the journey of a young woman who dreams of making it big on Broadway. It has a great cast of actors and features catchy musical numbers that are sure to have you tapping your toes.

Doll Face is a 1945 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8.
