Drink Drank Drunk is a 2005 Hong Kong romantic comedy directed by Derek Yee and starring Daniel Wu, Miriam Chin Wah Yeung, and Alex Fong. The movie tells the story of two strangers who meet in a bar and form an unusual bond. The movie opens with a prologue where we see three friends, Fong Fong (Miriam Chin Wah Yeung), Ah Heng (Daniel Wu), and Hui (Alex Fong) drinking beer and entertaining themselves in a bar. Fong Fong owns the bar, and Ah Heng and Hui are her regular customers. They are all happy-go-lucky and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

The main story kicks in when Fong Fong, Ah Heng, and Hui receive news that Fong Fong's father has passed away. Fong Fong is devastated and decides to sell the bar, which is also her family's legacy. She puts up a sign announcing the sale, and that's when she meets Ah Wei (Daniel Wu), who comes to the bar to drink away his sorrows.

Ah Wei is a taxi driver who just broke up with his girlfriend. He is heartbroken and feels lost. When he sees Fong Fong's sign, he knows that he has to save the bar. He proposes to Fong Fong to stay at the bar for three months, during which he will try to increase its popularity and make it profitable. Fong Fong agrees reluctantly, and they shake hands on the deal.

The next day, Ah Wei starts his work as a bartender while Fong Fong keeps an eye on him. Ah Wei has no experience in running a bar, but he is determined to succeed. He starts by changing the bar's menu, introducing new drinks and themes. He also starts a contest with a cash prize of ten thousand dollars for the person who can drink the most and stand on one leg for the longest time. The contest becomes very popular, and the bar starts to attract more customers.

As time passes, Fong Fong and Ah Wei become close friends, and they both start to open up about their past. Fong Fong confesses that she has a boyfriend who is in love with someone else. Ah Wei tells her about his ex-girlfriend, who was a waitress at a restaurant where he used to eat. They both begin to understand each other's pain and start to depend on each other for support.

In the meantime, Hui, who is secretly in love with Fong Fong, becomes jealous of Ah Wei and starts to cause trouble in the bar. He tells Fong Fong's boyfriend about her relationship with Ah Wei, and he also tries to sabotage the bar's success. Eventually, Fong Fong finds out about Hui's feelings and confronts him. Hui apologizes, and they both reconcile.

As the three months come to an end, Fong Fong realizes that she has fallen in love with Ah Wei. Ah Wei also realizes that he has feelings for Fong Fong but is hesitant to confess because of his broken heart. On the last day of their deal, Ah Wei decides to leave without saying goodbye. He feels that he has nothing to offer Fong Fong and wants to spare her the pain of being with someone who is still hurting.

The movie ends with Fong Fong in tears, looking at the sign that says the bar is closed. Suddenly, Ah Wei appears, and they both embrace. Ah Wei tells her that he loves her, and Fong Fong reciprocates. They both kiss, and the camera pans out to show the sign that says, "Bar for rent or sale." The end.

Overall, Drink Drank Drunk is a charming movie that tells a simple story with honesty and humor. The acting is superb, and the chemistry between Daniel Wu and Miriam Chin Wah Yeung is fantastic. The movie is not just a romantic comedy but also a reflection on the fragility of relationships and the power of friendship. It's a movie that will make you laugh, cry, and leave you feeling warm inside. A must-see for any romantic comedy fan.
