This Mexican drama film debuted in theaters in 2007. It is based on a novel created by Guillermo Arriaga. The film follows a young man named Gregorio who commits suicide shortly after being released from a psychiatric institution when he learns of an affair between his girlfriend and his best friend. His best friend Manuel continues his affair with Tania even after Gregorio's death. They then try to decode a series of messages that Gregorio had left behind. The movie is set in modern day Mexico and tries to bring attention to the alarming high rates of suicide and schizophrenia among youth in Latin American countries.
