Escape from Hong Kong Island is a 2004 Hong Kong action-comedy movie directed by Simon Leung and starring Jordan Chan, Chapman To, and Coco Chiang. The film takes place in Hong Kong as a viral outbreak leads to chaos and destruction. In the midst of the pandemic, three unlikely heroes come together to survive and escape the island.

The movie begins with a group of international scientists arriving in Hong Kong to attend a conference about viral diseases. However, they soon discover that the city is in chaos due to a viral outbreak that turns people into aggressive and violent zombies. The city government has already been overwhelmed by the situation and they are unable to evacuate the international guests.

In the ensuing mayhem, three Hong Kong residents, including a cook named Rocky (Jordan Chan), a nightclub owner named Samson (Chapman To), and his assistant May (Coco Chiang), band together to escape from the island. Along the way, they encounter a series of obstacles and meet other survivors, including a police officer and a young girl. With limited means of transportation and dwindling supplies, they must navigate through the dangerous streets and find a way to leave the city before it's too late.

The chemistry between the three leads provides a lot of humor and energy to the film. Jordan Chan, in particular, brings a lot of comic relief as the bumbling and hapless Rocky who often finds himself in the middle of dangerous situations. Chapman To portrays Samson as a slick and confident club owner who uses his wit to get himself out of sticky situations. Coco Chiang's character May is the voice of reason who tries to keep them all together with her practicality and determination.

The movie is filled with fast-paced action scenes as well as moments of suspense and horror as the group tries to escape from the infected residents of Hong Kong. In addition to the zombies, they also have to worry about other dangers such as collapsing buildings and gangs of looters who are taking advantage of the chaos. The movie also touches on the themes of survival, friendship, and sacrifice as the group takes risks to help each other and stay alive.

The special effects are well executed, especially given the film's relatively low budget. The zombie makeup is convincing, and the action sequences are choreographed effectively. The movie also has a great soundtrack filled with classic Cantonese songs and modern pop music.

Overall, Escape from Hong Kong Island is an entertaining action-packed film with a strong cast and a good mix of humor, horror, and suspense. It's not a particularly deep or meaningful movie, but it's a fun way to pass the time and will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. The film does an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged and invested in the characters' fates. It is definitely worth checking out for fans of action-comedies or zombie movies.
