Everybody's Fine is a heartwarming drama that follows the journey of a widowed father Frank Goode, played by Robert De Niro. After the sudden death of his wife, Frank is left alone in his home, where he has always been the provider for his family. He has always been too busy with his work to take the time to travel and visit his grown-up children, who have all moved out of his home.

As his children's lives have moved on, Frank's life has become increasingly lonely, and he longs to see them again. In a desperate attempt to reconnect with his children, Frank decides to embark on a road trip, traveling across the country to visit each of his children one by one. He sets out on this journey with his old station wagon, determined to reunite his family, mend old wounds and create new memories.

The story moves, as Frank visits each of his children, discovering that their lives are not as he imagined them to be. His eldest son David, played by Austin Lysy, is an artist who lives in New York, but he is the only one who doesn't show up for the scheduled reunion. Next, Frank travels to Chicago to visit his daughter Amy, played by Kate Beckinsale, her husband Jeff, and their children. To his surprise, he finds that Amy is not as happy in her home life as he had believed, and that her marriage is having some problems.

In Denver, Frank meets his son Robert, played by Sam Rockwell, who is living alone in a hotel and working for a phone company. Frank discovers that Robert is not the orchestra conductor he had always assumed he was, but is instead a percussionist. He also learns that Robert is struggling with addiction and depression.

The last visit is with his youngest daughter, Rosie, played by Drew Barrymore, in Las Vegas. Rosie is a professional dancer, but she quits the industry and becomes a blackjack dealer after an injury makes dancing unviable. During his stay, Frank notices that Rosie has been hiding something from him, and he discovers that she is a single mother with a son named Jack.

As Frank reconnects with each of his children, he realizes that his perception of their lives and his role in them is not accurate. He also realizes that they have not been living up to their potential, and that they have each been hiding their struggles from him. Frank is forced to confront the reality of his children's lives and the impact his absence has had on them.

Everybody's Fine is a poignant and heartwarming adventure that explores the complexities of family relationships and the importance of communication in maintaining them. The journey is uplifting and relatable, with genuine moments of laughter and tears. The film is beautifully shot, and it is clear that the cast and crew worked hard to create a story that is both entertaining and touching.

In summary, Everybody's Fine is a must-watch movie that tells the story of a father's journey to reconnect with his children. It is filled with great performances and stunning visuals, and it packs an emotional punch that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Everybody's Fine is a 2009 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.1 and a MetaScore of 47.
