Farewell to Harry is a 2002 American drama film directed by Garrett Bennett and starring Joe Flanigan, William Hall Jr., and Lysette Anthony. The movie is about a young man named Harry who's grown tired of his life of drinking and partying. He decides to return to his hometown to visit his mother, and upon arriving he meets an old friend named Jon. Jon is a successful lawyer, who Harry admires and envies.

The two quickly become fast friends again, and Harry begins to look up to Jon even more as he sees the life he could have had. However, as Harry begins to see the dark side of Jon's law firm, he begins to question whether wealth and success are worth the betrayal and ethical compromises required to achieve them.

The first scene in the movie sets the tone of the plot with a bored Harry not able to find any pleasures from his current life. As he flips channels on his TV, he lands on a news channel broadcasting a report on Jon, his successful friend from the past. Finding inspiration, Harry decides to head back to his hometown and visit Jon. From the airport, he heads straight to the bar and there he meets the owner of a local bookstore. The owner, June becomes Harry's love interest, and together they begin to explore the town and its people.

Harry discovers Jon's success and his wealth, but at what cost? He wrestles with the idea of money and success versus selling his soul. Along the way, Harry also deals with the death of his father, which adds to his already complicated emotional state.

The film's main complication comes after Jon takes Harry to his law firm, and Harry is disturbed by the lack of ethics among the lawyers. Jon's law company uses tactics that are illegal in order to make deals with their clients, and Harry grows increasingly uncomfortable with the situation. He realizes that he has found a better life back home in his old town, surrounded by true friends who care for him rather than monetary possessions.

The movie is a testimony to the fact that wealth and power should never come at the expense of our values and dignity. As Harry navigates Jon's world, he realizes that he is happier living a simple life without so much stress, deceit, and greed.

Joe Flanigan does an outstanding job portraying the complex character of Harry. He brings an honesty and authenticity to the character that makes his journey relatable. The cinematography beautifully captures the small-town feel and the picturesque landscapes. The film uses a mix of music, including bluegrass and country, to capture the essence of the town.

Overall, Farewell to Harry is a powerful film with an important message. The film is a journey that will leave you thinking about what is most important in life.
