Rio De Janeiro in Brazil is universally renowned as a paradise. Tourists flock to Rio from all over the world in search of sun, beautiful beaches, and to see some of the most beautiful people that can be encountered anywhere. However, located just up the hill from Ipanema Beach is a vast neighborhood of broken down, dirty, violent slums known to the locals as favelas. These favelas are filled with the bottom-most, unfortunate population of Brazil. The film follows one of these residents of the favelas as he grows tired of the nonstop violence, and decides to start a movement known as Afro-Reggae.
