Fever Lake is a 1997 thriller/horror movie that centers around a group of college students who decide to spend their spring break in a remote cabin situated by a lake. The agenda for the break was nothing but fun and relaxation, but things take a sinister turn when they realize that the lake has a dark history. The movie stars Corey Haim as John, a college kid who is desperately trying to impress his crush, Amanda (played by Lauren Parker). Joining them on the trip are Mike (Mario Lopez) and his girlfriend, Gina (Stephanie McFadden), Michael (Mark McLachlan), and a park ranger named Ralph (Bo Hopkins).

Soon after they arrive at the cabin, strange things begin to occur. For starters, they find a newspaper clipping about a murder that took place at the lake years ago. The victim was a young girl, and her body was never found. However, things take a more sinister turn when they discover that there may be more to the story than they thought.

As the days go by, the students begin to experience strange occurrences, including bizarre nightmares and encounters with an unknown assailant. The tension builds as they realize that someone or something is stalking them, and it becomes apparent to them that they may not make it out of their spring break vacation alive.

Despite the horror elements of the story, the film does a good job of balancing it with light-hearted humor, thanks to the antics of Mike, played by Mario Lopez. He helps to bring some levity to the story, and his characterization adds a much-needed breath of fresh air.

In addition to the well-rounded characters, the setting is also a strong point of the film. The remote cabin by the lake makes for a great horror location, and the isolation of the characters adds to the suspense and terror.

The acting in Fever Lake is solid, with each actor bringing their own unique quirks to their respective roles. While Corey Haim and Lauren Parker are the main stars, the supporting cast also does an excellent job of bringing their characters to life.

Overall, while Fever Lake isn't the most ground-breaking film in the horror or thriller genres, it is still an enjoyable watch with enough scares and tension to keep you on the edge of your seat. The strong character development, setting, and acting help to elevate the film above some of the more forgettable entries in the genre. The film is a testament to the late Corey Haim's talent as an actor, and it's a shame that he wasn't able to make more films like this one before his untimely death.

If you're a fan of horror or thriller movies, or just looking for a fun and suspenseful flick to watch, then Fever Lake is definitely worth checking out.

Fever Lake is a 1996 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.6.
