Flashpoint is an action-packed thriller movie from 1984 that features a star-studded cast with Kris Kristofferson, Treat Williams, and Rip Torn leading the way. It is directed by William Tannen and produced by Michael S. Murphey. The movie is set in the year 1984 and tells the story of two Texas border patrol agents who stumble upon a cache of stolen military equipment left behind by the US army after the Vietnam War.

Kristofferson plays the role of Bobby Logan, a seasoned border patrol agent who is partnered with Ernie Wyatt (Williams), a young and enthusiastic rookie. Logan has been on the force for a long time and is familiar with the ways of the border. He is patient and level-headed, while Wyatt is impulsive and somewhat trigger-happy. Together, the two agents patrol the rugged terrain of the Texas-Mexico border, looking for illegal immigrants and smugglers.

During one of their routine patrols, they come across a burnt-out pickup truck, and upon closer inspection, they find a cache of stolen military equipment hidden nearby. They realize that the equipment has been stolen from the US army and that it is worth millions of dollars. Logan insists that they report the find to their superiors, but Wyatt has other ideas.

Wyatt convinces Logan to keep the equipment a secret and sell it on the black market. Logan is reluctant but agrees because he wants to protect and educate his less fortunate children. Together, they start selling the stolen equipment, and their lives change overnight. They start living a luxurious lifestyle, buying fancy cars, and houses. They think they have it all figured out and that they are bulletproof.

However, things take a turn for the worse when they are visited by Sheriff Wells (Torn), a corrupt law enforcement officer on the payroll of the local drug cartel. Wells knows about the stolen equipment and wants a piece of the action. Logan and Wyatt refuse to give in to his demands, and the situation quickly spirals out of control.

The rest of the movie is a tense and thrilling ride as Logan and Wyatt try to protect themselves and their families from Sheriff Wells and the drug cartel. They are forced to take matters into their own hands and risk everything to outsmart their enemies.

Flashpoint is a well-crafted movie that features great performances from its cast. Kristofferson and Williams have great chemistry as the two border patrol agents, and Torn is excellent as the corrupt Sheriff Wells. The movie is well paced, and the suspense builds up slowly but surely, keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats.

The movie's themes revolve around loyalty, greed, and the consequences of one's actions. Logan and Wyatt's decision to keep the stolen equipment a secret leads to a series of events that put their lives and the lives of those around them in danger. While the two men initially think that they are doing the right thing, they realize too late that greed has blinded them.

Overall, Flashpoint is a great action-packed thriller that is well worth watching. The movie boasts an engaging plot, great performances, and a suspenseful atmosphere that will keep viewers hooked from start to finish. It is a classic 80s movie that still holds up today and is a must-watch for fans of the genre.
