In the 2004 horror-thriller movie Frankenfish, a group of Louisiana locals and fishermen, including the lead character named Sam Rivers (Tory Kittles), are faced with a monstrous creature that's terrorizing the area. The creature, a genetically modified fish, has escaped from a fish farm and is now preying on anything that moves, including humans.

As the film begins, a scientist named Mary Callahan (China Chow) has created a genetically modified fish that she believes will solve world hunger. However, during a violent storm, a massive surge of water floods the facility and the genetically modified fish are set free into the nearby waters. As the fish, which are now the size of a small car, make their way towards the Gulf of Mexico, they leave behind a trail of destruction that includes both humans and animals.

The film then switches its focus to the small Louisiana town, where we meet a group of fishermen who are trying to catch as many fish as possible before the season ends. Sam Rivers is the leader of this group and he's determined to catch as many fish as possible before he retires. Sam's team includes his nephew, a few other locals, and a tourist named K.D. (K.D. Aubert) who is visiting the area for a fishing vacation.

As the group sets out to catch fish, they discover that something else is lurking in the water. A gruesome discovery of a body with large bite marks leads them to believe that a monster fish is in the area. They soon realize that the fish they're dealing with is far from ordinary and they are soon fighting for their lives against a genetically modified fish that is actively hunting them.

Throughout the movie, we see the group try to outmaneuver the beast at every turn. The fish is relentless, however, and it's not long before the group starts to dwindle in numbers. As things go from bad to worse, the survivors must band together to defeat the monster fish before it destroys everything in its path.

The movie features some intense action sequences and jump scares that will have viewers on the edge of their seats. The special effects are well done, especially considering the budget constraints of the film. The underwater scenes are particularly well shot and add a level of tension that keeps you engaged throughout.

The performances are also impressive, especially considering most of the actors were relative newcomers at the time of filming. Tory Kittles delivers a solid performance as Sam, the leader of the group. K.D. Aubert also shines as the tourist who is thrust into a situation she never saw coming. China Chow, who plays the scientist behind the monstrous fish, is also effective in her role as the scientist dealing with the fallout of her creation.

Overall, Frankenfish is an entertaining horror-thriller that will keep you engaged from start to finish. It's not without its flaws, but it's a fun ride that's worth checking out. If you're a fan of creature features or just looking for a good scare, you won't be disappointed.

Frankenfish is a 2004 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.7.
