Frogs is a horror movie, that was released in 1972. Starring Ray Milland, Sam Elliott, Joan Van Ark, and Adam Roarke, the movie is set in the southern United States, where a wealthy family is celebrating Independence Day weekend on a private island. The island is teeming with wildlife, but something is amiss. The amphibian population is increasing at a worrying rate, and they are all straining to the limits in the jungle.

The plot follows a family that is well-known for their wealth, but indifferent to their environment. The patriarch of the family, Jason Crockett (Ray Milland), is a cantankerous old man who is more concerned with his upcoming birthday celebrations than the ecological disaster that's unfolding before him. His daughter, Karen (Joan Van Ark), is a bit more conscious of the situation, but is powerless to do anything about it.

At the same time, a photographer named Pickett Smith (Sam Elliott) is cruising around the area, taking photos of the local wildlife. He stumbles upon the island and discovers the Crockett family's Independence Day celebrations. They invite him to stay, and he begins to see the severity of the situation, as the Crockett family members begin to get sick and die mysteriously.

As it turns out, the amphibian population on the island has been greatly affected by the pollution from the Crockett family's industrial plant. The frogs and other reptiles that populate the island have become more aggressive and poisonous than before, which is taking its toll on the hapless inhabitants of the island.

Frogs is a tense, slow-burning horror movie that is best appreciated for its suspense and atmosphere. The tone of this movie is one of dread and foreboding, as the sense of danger slowly builds throughout the story. Director George McCowan does an excellent job with the pacing and the cinematography in Frogs, and the visual effects used throughout the movie are very effective.

The performances in this movie are also top-notch. Ray Milland delivers a commanding and grizzled performance as Jason Crockett. Sam Elliott is very good as Pickett Smith, and Joan Van Ark is convincing as Karen Crockett. Even the supporting cast members are effective in their roles.

Overall, Frogs is a well-made horror movie that's worth a watch. The suspenseful atmosphere and solid performances make it stand out from other movies of its era. The ecological message of the film is also quite relevant today, making the movie's eco-horror elements all the more poignant.

Frogs is a 1972 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.4 and a MetaScore of 51.
