Future Cops is a 1993 action-comedy movie directed by Wong Jing. The movie features Hong Kong's hottest male pop singers and actors, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, and Aaron Kwok, as time-traveling cops from the future who travel back to present-day Hong Kong to protect a young boy from being assassinated by their arch-nemesis, The General.

The movie's plot is set in the year 2043, where the world is ruled by The General, a brutal dictator who has taken over the planet with his army of cyborgs. The only hope for humanity is a young boy named Sky, who holds a secret power that could defeat The General. So, the future police force sends back in time three of their best warriors to protect Sky from The General's deadly assassins.

Each of the three police officers comes with their own unique powers, skills, and personalities. Firstly, there is Ti Man, played by Aaron Kwok, who is a visually impaired warrior but has superhuman hearing skills. He wears a helmet that enables him to see the world through sonar waves. Secondly, there is Buddha, played by Jacky Cheung, who has powers resembling those of a comic-style superhero. He can fly and create powerful energy spheres using his hands. Thirdly, Andy Lau plays Kiddo. Kiddo has a childlike demeanor and immense strength, and he possesses the ability to shape-shift into animals and inanimate objects.

Upon arriving in the present time, our heroes quickly realize that they are in a different world than they are used to. They are met with several comic situations that arise from the difference between modern-day Hong Kong's culture and the future world that they belong to. Due to their distinct appearances and behavior, the police officers stick out like sore thumbs and attract attention, which puts Sky and their mission in danger.

The General is determined to capture Sky, and thus he sends his most capable assassins to take him down. The assassins include an archer named Ken, who uses a bow and arrow with laser arrows, and a hideous monster named Mercedes, who has incredible brute strength and is hardly affected by pain.

As the future cops and assassins engage in epic battles for Sky's life, the cops gradually learn that they are not limited by their technology, equipment or their individual capabilities. Their greatest weapon against The General's allies is their friendship and teamwork. The film's humor and action are well blended, creating a fun and entertaining viewing experience.

The movie's story and dialogue are witty, and the action plays out as a fun spoof on the popular 1990s movie genre, featuring larger-than-life characters, martial arts, and special effects. The film would appeal to fans of action and comedy movies alike. With its colorful and quirky characters, engaging storyline, slapstick humor, and entertaining action scenes, Future Cops provide a fun and wild ride from beginning to end.

In conclusion, while Future Cops isn't groundbreaking or anything, it is a fun and entertaining action-comedy movie that has rightfully earned cult status. Wong Jing's direction, combined with the solid performances of Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, and Jacky Cheung, has provided us with a movie that is both amusing and thrilling. Although the special effects may look outdated now, it's still an enjoyable film that should be enjoyed for its pure entertainment value.
