The Joes are back in the sequel to the movie G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In G.I. Joe Retaliation, the Joes return to do battle with their archrivals, the criminal syndicate known as Cobra. Duke Lady Jaye, and Snake Eyes return to save the world from Cobra Commander and his many evil commandos. Along with Duke are many Joes that you did not meet in the original film. One of new characters is Roadblock, played by Dwayne Johnson. Also making a special appearance in the movie is Bruce Willis, playing General Joe Colton.
Additionally the Joes use many of the different types of weapons designed for them. Some of those weapons are submarines and different types of guns, only used by the Joes. They also have different types of computer graphics specifically designed for the Joes.
In box office news for the weekend, Bruce Willis’ “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” held on to the top spot with an iron grip, grossing around $41.2 million over the weekend. It was enough to bump animated “The Croods” down to second place, but noticeably short of the $54.7 million that 2009’s “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” managed to haul in for its premiere weekend. Though it fell, “The Croods,” starring the voice talents of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, and Ryan Reynolds, still managed to do well for itself with a $26.
