Watch Girl in Progress

A delightful drama about going into adulthood too soon, Girl in Progress is a new American movie with a Latino twist. The movie was directed by Patricia Rigen and the storyline was written by Hiram Martinez. This movie features a cast of several Hispanic actors and actresses, which include: Eva Mendez, Eugenio Derbez, Patricia Arquete, Matthew Modine, Cierra Ramirez and several others. This movie lasts for 90 minutes and during that time the viewers are shown that sometimes growing up means being mature enough to embrace your age. This film is rated PG 13 for mature content.

The movie takes place in New York City and focuses on a hardworking and headstrong single mother called Gracie. Gracie, because she is a single mother, must support herself and her rebellious daughter by working several jobs and deal with her annoying bosses. Gracie doesn't have any time on her hands because she must struggle with several jobs in order to get by. As her bills pile up, Gracie doesn't have any time to dedicate to her daughter and, as a result, her daughter rebels against her and does poorly in school. Gracie is unaware of the problems that her daughter is going through because she is too busy focusing on paying her bills on time.

One day Ansiedad, Gracie's daughter, was in her English class, and her English teacher, Ms. Armstrong, was telling the class several coming of age stories. These stories ended up giving Ansiedad the idea of skipping through her teenage years and going straight into adulthood. Ansiedad asks her loyal best friend, Tavita, to help her scheme her way into adulthood. After several attempts at adulthood, Ansiedad begins to tell her friend several negative and hurtful things which ultimately lead to Tavita running away. While she ran away, Tavita became lost and deiced to take skinny pills so that she can lose weight, but she almost died. But as the movie progresses, Gracie and Ansiedad decide to make more time for each other, and Ansiedad realizes that she shouldn't try to grow up to soon.

Gracie: Gracie is a single mother who works several jobs in order to support herself and her daughter. For the most part, Gracie is very lenient, but she is very headstrong.

Ansiedad: Upset, bitter and craving attention, Ansiedad is a headstrong and rebellious teenager who always is mad with her life.

Girl in Progress is a 2012 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.6 and a MetaScore of 45.
