God of Gamblers Returns is a 1994 Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Wong Jing and starring Chow Yun-Fat, Tony Ka Fai Leung, and Chien-Lien Wu. This film is a sequel to the 1989 hit film, God of Gamblers, and it follows the story of Ko Chun (Chow Yun-Fat) after he loses his memory and becomes a simple-minded person. The movie is mostly filmed in Taiwan, and it features an excellent blend of traditional Taiwanese culture and modern Chinese culture.

The film starts with Ko Chun, who went to Taiwan to help his friend, Chau Yee (Chien-Lien Wu), to open a new casino. However, things do not go as planned, and Ko Chun gets involved in an accident while gambling with a gangster named Lung Wu (Tony Ka Fai Leung) in a high-stakes game. The accident causes Ko Chun to lose his memory, and he becomes a simple-minded person who works as a chef in a restaurant. However, Lung Wu does not believe that Ko Chun has lost his memory, and he hires a group of assassins to kill him.

Meanwhile, Lung Wu plans to open a casino and become the god of gamblers in Taiwan. However, he faces tough competition from other gamblers who do not want a gangster to take over the gambling business. Lung Wu tries to eliminate his opponents one by one, and he finally challenges Ko Chun, who he believes will regain his memory and be his toughest opponent.

The movie features several intense gambling scenes, including a game of mahjong where all the players have to wear masks and play with voice distorters. The movie also showcases the traditional Taiwanese gambling culture, including several outdoor gambling games like the dice game, where players roll dice and bet on the result.

God of Gamblers Returns is a well-directed film with a good blend of action, comedy, and drama. The movie has several comic scenes that keep the audience engaged, and it also features some fantastic fight scenes that showcase Chow Yun-Fat's martial arts skills. The acting performances are exceptional, with Chow Yun-Fat delivering a standout performance as the amnesiac Ko Chun. Tony Ka Fai Leung also delivers a convincing performance as the villainous Lung Wu, and Chien-Lien Wu is excellent as the female lead, Chau Yee.

The film's soundtrack is also noteworthy, featuring a blend of Chinese and Western music that perfectly complements the movie's mood. The special effects and cinematography are also impressive, particularly in the gambling scenes, where the camera angles and lighting create a high-tension atmosphere.

Overall, God of Gamblers Returns is an enjoyable movie that combines traditional Taiwanese culture and modern Chinese culture with a mix of action, comedy, and drama. The movie is well-directed, with excellent performances from the cast, impressive special effects, and a great soundtrack.
